DOT Consulting for Roofing Contractors
Expert DOT consulting for roofing contractors—we make FMCSA compliance straightforward so you can operate confidently and avoid expensive mistakes.
Our targeted DOT Audits quickly expose hidden regulatory gaps, giving you a crystal-clear compliance roadmap and the ongoing safety training you need for long-term success and risk management.
When do DOT Rules Apply?
DOT rules apply to any company that uses commercial motor vehicles in interstate commerce (as defined in 390.5). A commercial motor vehicle is generally defined as a vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (or gross vehicle weight), gross combination weight rating (or gross combination weight of 10,001lbs or more.
If your roofing business doesn’t travel interstate but stays entirely within your state (intrastate) you’ll want to check how your state enforces DOT rules. Every state is just a bit different, we can help you with that.
In addition to basic DOT/FMCSA safety rules, If your roofing company transports quantities of hazardous materials (even if the load doesn’t require placarding) such as sealants, adhesives and other materials that are considered hazardous material, you will be subject to additional hazmat rules in the hazardous materials regulations (HMR). This is in addition to complying with FMCSA rules.
Stop worrying about DOT compliance. We’ll pinpoint regulatory risks and provide the strategy needed to return your focus entirely to successful roofing operations.
